NET-TEL takes a unique approach to satisfying the needs of military messaging by supplying a consistent set of technology from desktop to server. In this way the inherent limitations of "plug-in" military technology can be avoided.

The FlashPoint Military Messaging product set includes:

• FlashPoint Client - NET-TEL's unique military messaging client for Windows™
• FlashPoint Desktop Enabler - full set of MAPI Service Providers
• FlashPoint Server - military messaging server available on a wide range of platforms

The messaging products can operate in concert with NET-TEL's range of boundary security products, for which military extensions are available:

• MailGuard X.400
• MailGuard Bastion

To fully support the key military messaging standards of ACP123 and STANAG 4406 requires support in all areas of the client as well as specialised operations performed by the server. FlashPoint natively supports key functions such as:

• Message Release Authority
• Roles-based Messaging
• Flash Message Delivery
• Message Correlation

The FlashPoint client is a full 32-bit Windows™ MAPI messaging client, compliant with OLE2. The client is the military-enabled version of NET-TEL's Universal Information Client and inherits the rich feature set of this product. All features required to support P772 military content are handled by tight integration into the client.

Keeping up with the latest standards, FlashPoint also offers support for the Protected Content Type (PCT) of STANAG 4406 version 3. This capability brings cryptographic support for message integrity, confidentiality and authenticity.

The FlashPoint client can incorporate a wide range of third-party plug-ins such as:

• IRIS/MFS-Lite from Systematic - supporting AdatP3 military forms
• MailSecure from Baltimore Technologies - supporting encryption and digital signature
